Lance Glynn

Paragon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

Lance Glynn has been training Brazilian Jiu jitsu since 2004.  Lance hit the ground running training every day and dedicating his life to the art.  Lance received his brown belt in September of 2009 and opened Paragon of Santa Maria with John Letters the next year.   He has been extremely focused on tournament jiu jitsu and has won multiple tournaments over the years including South Bay open, Rumble in the Redwoods, Copa Pacifica, California open, and Second place at the 2012 Rio Open in Brazil.

Bringing world class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to our community means having to compete with the best. After receiving his black belt, Lance has been hitting the tournament scene full force fighting some of the worlds best BJJ fighters including names like Keenan Cornelius and Magid Hage.

John Letters

Paragon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

John Letters has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2003.  It started as a way to get in shape, became a hobby and it eventually turned into an obsession.  John has a background in wrestling, boxing, and strength training.  He received his purple belt from Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller in January of 2009 and opened up Paragon of Santa Maria in 2010 with Lance Glynn haveing the goal of bringing competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the Santa Maria Valley.  Johns’ competition resume includes runner up at 2009 rumble in the redwoods, 2008 grapplers quest, 2004 California pro am,  third place at 2008 no gi world championships, Second place 2011 Pan Ams, and First place brown belt @ the 2012 Rio Open Championship.
